About

Sachin Dharwadker is a screenwriter, director, and editor based in New York City. After receiving the 2015–16 Martin Scorsese Young Filmmakers Scholarship, he graduated magna cum laude from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in May 2016 with B.F.A. in Film & Television.

In 2017, Sachin was awarded a Sundance Ignite Fellowship by Adobe Project 1324 and the Sundance Institute for his short film Breathe in Breathe Out, which has screened at festivals around the world. The fellowship included a trip to the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and its sister festival, the Los Angeles-based NEXT FEST. Sachin’s upcoming short film, The Alternative, is in the final stages of post-production.

Sachin’s recent credits also include The Tony Beat, a docu-series commissioned by The Broadway Channel that follows the editors of Broadway.com as they navigate the chaos of the 2016 Tony Awards season. The series features A-list talent like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lupita Nyong’o, and Jessica Lange. Today, Sachin continues to work part-time for The Broadway Channel as a creator of broadcast-quality video content, in addition to working as a freelance director of any and all video content.

When not creating or consuming motion pictures, he enjoys reading, conversing, sports, and daydreaming.
